Family Mart Open

Kimura Yakkyoku (drugstore), which had a lot of troubles before, has been replaced with a new convenience store Family Mart.

Of course it's open around the clock, so even at the time Eigonoie closes, the street is brighter than before.

With the introduction of Family Mart, the competition within the convenience store industry around this area will intensify.

It's sad that the street in front of Eigonoie would be withering unless any chain stores take part in this area...

My Colombian friend

My Colombian friend Veronica has been in Japan since two weeks ago, and we had a dinner with her and her friend Karen yesterday.

We were in the same class when I took part in a studying abroad program in Sheffield, England, five years ago.

I was so surprised to hear that Veronica and Karen were also teachers.

I promised to visit Colombia someday, and they also promised to come to Japan again. (maybe for Mt. Fuji lol)

Don't forget to bring Nagatanien's Ochazuke (= Seasoning for Rice Soup) in visiting Colombia!!

Cousin married

My cousin got married and held a wedding party on Tanabata Day.

She is as old as I, so I have a strange feeling.

Anyway, I'd like to toast to my cousin for that happy wedding and their good future.

Chimayo Vest

I bought a vest at half price.

It's weaved Chimayo's traditional patterns on the chest and back.

It seems to suit white shirts.

One Party Two Minds

Democratic Party of Japan powerbroker Ichiro Ozawa and 49 allies tendered their resignation to the ruling party in protest at the government's sales tax hike proposal, triggering a party split and weakening Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda's hold on power.

The move came after the House of Representatives last Tuesday passed controversial bilss for social security and tax reform, centering on a plan to double the consumption tax to 10% in two stages over three years.

Ozawa, a 70-year-old veteran, has been nicknamed "heavyweight," "powerbroker," or "shadow shogun."

For better or for worse, this is the split of new age.

Anyway, this marionette remains in DPJ.

He still has a lofty air, but I don't want to hear anything from him...

Spain 4-0 Italy in EURO 2012 Final

Goals from David Silva, Jordi Alba, Fernando Torres and Juan Mata gave Spain 4-0 victory over Italy in the UEFA EURO 2012 Final.

Spain becomes the first team to retain tthe European Championships and the only team to win three successive major international tournaments.

Despite missing two Barcelona's key players Carles Puyol and David Villa, there seemed to be no problem on Spain's specialty eye-catching one-touch passing.

The latter half must have been hard for 10-man Italy because Giorgio Chiellini and Thiago Motta both went off with unxepected injuries.

"Super" Mario Balotelli, whose bad behavior has been blamed, shed tears of disappointment.

Italy must be much better than before, but the Invincible Armada is still the best in the world.

Passion Fruits

One of my mother's friends lives in Amami-Oshima, Okinawa, and she annually sends us a box of passion fruits.

What a rich aroma and flavor!!

It tastes like... guava, lemons and pineapple combined.

It's a little bit sour, so puuting them on ice cream seems to be better.

Wanna go to Okinawa!! (≧▽≦)
