Ranko Despotovic

It has been decided that Ranko Despotovic who joined Urawa Reds in the summer of 2011 will leave the club.

The contract with him expires on June 30th, but he'll go back to his country today to heal his injury.

Ranko scored only a few goals, but I'll never forget his sensational goal last year.

Ranko walked around the pitch to say goodbye to fans before the match yesterday.

Luckily, I could talk a little with Ranko at the stand.

Thank you, Ranko.

Hope your bright future!! \(^o^)/

Bayern win Champions League 2013

Bayern Munich defeated German rival Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the Champions League final on Saturday night, ending four years frustration for Bayern in Europe's biggest football tournament.

Arjen Robben's dramatic winner fascinated with thousands of fans at Wembley Stadium.

Robben ran onto Frank Ribery's backheeled flick in the penalty area and put the ball past goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller in the 89th minute to send Bayern to its first Champions League victory since 2001.

20th Anniversary Match

It was a fantastic deer hunting last Saturday for Urawa Reds!!

Shinzo Koroki gave the home side a 78th-minute lead after Daisuke Nasu had canceled out Takuya Nozawa's opener, before substitute Tsukasa Umesaki made the game safe with a third in the 89th minute.
(Actually Koroki was offside for his goal, but the referee validated.)

The game was chosen to commemorate the J-League's 20th anniversary celebrations.

*An actress Chiaki Ozaki, who was born on the same day as J-League started, made a short speech

Two legendary players from each team's history, Robson Ponte and Alcindo, was in attendance to mark the occasion.

Shinji Ono also watched the game near my seat.

We sang "We are Diamonds" with Ponte after the game.

Happy birthday, Makino!!

Don't be puffed up with pride!! lol

Nagashima and Matsui

Yesterday was May 5th.

The date, 5/5, has the same numbers as Hideki Matsui's uniform when he played for the Yomiuri Giants, and New York Yankees and other MLB teams.

After an elaborate retirement ceremony, Matsui and his former manager Shigeo Nagashima received Peopl's Honor Award and golden bats from Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Tokyo Dome.

Former baseball players and People's Honor Award recipients, Sadaharu Oh and Sachio Kinugasa,  gave flowers to Nagashima and Matsui.

Matsui tossed the first pitch of the game that followed the ceremony.

Nagashima in a Giant's uniform with his old number 3 swung his bat in the box.

The Prime Minister acted as the referee.

Congratulations!!(^^)
